Our websites

This page features some of the websites created and maintained by AxSWeb over the past three years.

Home page for www.deli-vert.comdeli-vert

Date: 2007, Techniques: XHTML, CSS, ASP.NET

This site needed to invoke a feeling of quality and present food in a wholesome and interesting way. The client wanted to be able to update information and collect customer comments. An active site with admin features was created using ASP.NET and an SQL Server backend database. Javascript was required for the Windows Live Maps functionality on the location page, though a simple static location map is provided on browsers with JavaScript turned off.

Play Away Day Nursery SitePlay Away Day Nursery

Date: 2008, Techniques: XHTML, CSS, JavaScript

This site fulfils two purposes. It is there to provide a marketing presence but also to give information for current customers. The look and feel was important. The information should be easy to access, but the warm, play-focused feel of the nursery should come through in the page design. This was achieved by building the page around a colourful wooden block theme, but the page degrades nicely with images and/or style sheets disabled.

Home page for www.jogle07.co.ukJogle07

Date: 2007, Techniques: XHTML, CSS, ASP.NET, JavaScript

The John O'Groats to Land's End cycle ride 2007 website is a simple ASP.NET application with mainly static pages, but allowing remote entry of pictures, which were updated as the ride progressed. The Picture Gallery page uses AJAX to allow smooth image replacement when a new image is selected, although it reverts gracefully to a full page refresh when JavaScript is turned off in the browser. The site was required at short notice and was based on an initial template from the Microsoft® Expression® Web authoring tool.

Home page for www.wrunow.comwruNow - Where Are You Now

Date: 2007, Techniques: XHTML, CSS, ASP.NET, JavaScript

A product showcase for a new Location Based Service, this site uses AJAX in the user interface to provide a high-tech interface, though the page degrades gracefully for users without JavaScript. The site features user authentication and customer feedback while protecting the site from attack by spambots.

Home page for www.johnpscott.co.uk/xhtmltutorialXHTML Tutorial

Date: 2004-2007, Techniques: XHTML, CSS

A static website presenting a basic tutorial on XHTML. Links to other tutorials in the series take you to sites with the same structure and design, some of which make use of ASP.NET to provide active examples or more advanced content.
